Bush Radio in partnership with GMMG will be running an on air competition from today 20 April 2017.

This is an opportunity for listeners of the Morning Cruise to win R300 every week day till the 27th April 2017

The five winners* will collect their prize money on the 28th April 2017 at Bush Radio and compete in another round of questions for an extra R500.

To enter you need to listen to the Morning Cruise between 9am and 12pm for the Question of the Day segment and simply send your name and answer to 32158. The first correct sms drawn will be the winner

Bush Radio 89.5FM is giving 2 lucky listeners the opportunity to win a double weekend pass (Friday and Saturday) tickets  to the Cape Town International Jazz Festival 2017.

To stand a chance of winning a set of double tickets valued at almost R2500 for you and your partner for Friday and Saturday night, all you have to do is:

In order to qualify for the lucky draw you need to send a minimum of 10 sms (each sms costs R1)

The Salon on Bush Radio wins media award

On February 4th Bush Radio presenters Eugene Mathews and Roché Kester received the Media award at the 5th annual Evh Pink Award for their weekly LGBTQIA radio show called The Salon.

The 5th annual Evh Awards, which was held at the Black Pearl in Lansdowne, is the brain child of former Miss Gay Western Cape, Enigma von Hamburg. The awards look to show appreciation, celebration and recognition within the LGBTI community and supporters who dedicate their time, expertise and resources in the advancement of LGBTI rights and the wider LGBTI community.

The Salon, was nominated in the media category. After a public voting process and consideration from an adjudication panel, The Salon nabbed the Media award.

The Salon is currently the only LGBTI radio show to be found on terrestrial radio and focuses on empowering, educating and bring awareness to and about the LGBTI community in Cape Town. National and global issues which effect the LGBTI community are also discussed and highlighted on the show. The content ranges from serious issues such as health and legislation to pageants and social events applicable to the LGBTI community.
