30/07/2015

This past Wednesday for our regular staff development session, Bush Radio staff and trainees watched an interesting documentary called “The Distortion of Sound” about their perceived decline of sound quality and how technology has changed the way we listen to music.

Featuring: Mike Shinoda, Slash, Quincy Jones, Snoop Dogg, Steve Aoki , Lianne La Havas and others the documentary makes for some interesting viewing.

The documentary raised some interesting questions and comments from the group – ranging from progress versus technology to agenda setting.

Thanks to Ernestine Deane for directing us to this documentary and several others.

Back to School 2013 (pictures + audio)

back to school

All the members of the Bush Radio newsteam woke up very early today and headed to school along with the estimated 970 000 who started the 2013 school year.

Their job was a bit different than the eager students, they collected sound from principals, teachers, parents and most importantly the learners to share with all the Bush Radio listeners. We also had live crossings with several principals, parents and learners throughout the Breakfast Rush (6-9am).

Below is a slideshow with a sample the audio they used.

Going global

Recently we were asked by the organisers of the 10th AMARC Global Conference (World Association of Community Radio broadcasters) to submit a station promo which we thought summed up what the station stood for.

If you would like to here what we submitted click on the picture below.
