Bush Radio volunteer, trainer and mentor Nigel Vermaas was spending some time in the Eastern Cape and ran into Rachel and Siya Kolisi.
He grabbed the opportunity to get Bush Radio an exclusive interview with the couple just after it had been announced that South Africa’s 2019 Rugby World Cup-winning captain would be joining a new club in France.

Billed as the biggest event on the SA Hip Hop calendar, the African Hip Hop Indaba will showcase a historical photographic and streetwear brand exhibition, dancing and showcases in the main arena, live graffiti spraying and other exhibitions, marketing stalls and refreshment areas.
On September 1, the National Breakdance Team will be selected. The 2012 team will represent their country at the Braun Battle of the Year – Africa Qualifier, to be held in Montpellier, France in November 2012. The top two African crews will go on to compete against 16 of the world’s best breakdancing crews.
The winning 2 on 2 B-Girls will compete against 16 other countries at the We B*Girlz finals held at Braun Battle of the Year.
The winning DJ will represent South Africa at the DMC World DJ Championships in London in September 2012.
Over the past 12 years the Heal the Hood Project through the African Hip Hop Indaba and its partners have sent over 100 young people to compete at the Battle of the Year International and on various other international exchanges.
The African Hip Hop Indaba aims to encourage a sense of national pride among youth, in representing their country. It also promotes and exposes the talent of young South African artists. The Indaba showcases the work done by Heal the Hood Project and by youth in their communities and throughout the country.

Mixing it Up is a hip-hop dance theatre festival happening at Artscape on Saturday the 10th and Sunday the 11th March 2012.
The festival will showcase the best of South African DJs, dance crews, and you will experience leading hip-hop dance theatre with crews from France, Germany, UK and Zimbabwe.

A new South African hip hop dance theatre festival which aims to showcase the best of South African dance crews is set to hit Cape Town (and Johannesburg) in March 2012.
With Bush Radio‘s long history of being involved in the hip hop community we have come on board to give the Mixing It Up festival some much need airtime and give the artists exposure.
The festival will give South African audiences the opportunity to experience leading edge hip hop dance theatre with a uniquely South African flavour. Featuring dance crews such as Immortal Style from Cape Town and Soweto`s Finest from JHB. In addition to the dance performances, we will see the inclusion of well known South African rappers and DJs.The festival will also feature international hip hop dance theatre pioneers from France, Germany, UK and Zimbabwe. Including a special appearance by the duo Clash 66, Sebastien Ramires (France) and Hyun-Jung Wang (Germany).
Tickets are available at computicket at a cost of R50and R30 for students on presentation of a valid student card.
