He will host all the Thursday programming on Bush Radio 89.5fm from 12am in the morning along with all the regulars as we celebrate Freedom Day 2017 with 24 hours of Freedom.
Besides Sive hosting from the Breakfast Rush to the Level Da Vibes, he will also be highlighting what Freedom Day means and you are invited to call (021 448 6266), or SMS (32158), whatsapp (0832973910) or participate via twitter, facebook and instagram (#24hoursoffreedom).
Besides some of the serious stuff and excellent music – Sive will be doing some excellent give aways.
On Monday, 27 April 2015, South Africa’s Freedom Day – Everyday People host Freedom FlexDarkskin will attempt to broadcast for 24 hours straight on 89.5fm and online via www.bushradio.co.za.
He will host all the Monday programming on Bush Radio 89.5fm from 12am in the morning until 12pm that night as we celebrate Freedom Day 2015 with 24 hours of Freedom.
Besides Freedom hosting from the Breakfast Rush to the Wrong Rock Show he will also be highlighting what Freedom Day means and you are invited to call (021 448 6266), or SMS (32158) or participate via twitter, facebook and instagram (#24hoursoffreedom).
Besides some of the serious stuff and excellent music – Freedom will be giving away loads of prizes – ranging from bluetooth speakers to stationery.
24 hours of Freedom is being produced by the other host of Everyday People, Sive Msolo.
This year the 14th Media Kidocracy (kid+democracy) Konfrence which runs from th 6th to the 10th October 2014, is taking place in a historic year for media in South Africa. Bush Radio is celebrating 21 years since its first illegal broadcast, and 19 years of legal broadcasting. The National Community Radio Forum (NCRF) is also celebrating 21 years of existence, Bush Radio played a pivotal role in the establishment of the NCRF.
As South Africans, we are celebrating 20 years of democracy, as a country we are slowly emerging from a violent apartheid past to a nation celebrating its freedom.
The theme for MKK2014 is “Celebrating 20 years of democracy: learning from the past and celebrating the future.”
One of the foundations of this democracy we have built is freedom of expression.
This right allows everyone, including youth, to express themselves, whether this is verbally, artistically, scientifically or in any other way. However, this right does not come without responsibilities and we need to look at how we use our hard fought for freedom.
Freedom of expression is entrenched in the Media Kidocracy Konfrence as it allows participants to express the issues they raise through their media productions.
* Several of Bush Radio’s programmes will be broadcasting live from the event, these are: The Breakfast Rush (6-9am), The Morning Cruise (9am – 12pm), Sakhisizwe (12 – 2pm) and Everyday People (4 – 7pm).
** MKK2014 takes places at Wortelgat situated on the blanks of the Kleinriver estuary so besides the intensive media programme and discussion sessions participants will also enjoy the picturesque fynbos as well as archery, abseiling, and hiking.
The Bush Radio team travelled to various communities across Cape Town to get people to question the political parties contesting in the 2014 elections in a series of community debates which was also broadcast on 89.5fm and online. But the job is not yet done – the team will now be based at the Western Cape IEC results centre to bring you coverage of the results as they are made available.
Bush Radio’s flagship current affairs programme: “Newsline” will broadcast live on Thursday the 8th May 2014 at 7pm with Natalie Malgas and Freedom Raphela of “Everyday People” doing a build up show from 4pm.

Sometimes our volunteers do weird and wonderful things – (for example Sive walking on fire). This time around it was the turn of Everyday People co-host, Natalie Malgas.
Natalie committed to herself last year that when she turns 25 she will take part in the Cape Argus Pick ‘n Pay Momentum Cycle Tour. So two days after her birthday she was off on the grueling 109km race.
We asked her to take one of our cameras with her and file a short report:

Yesterday (25 July 2013) Chester Missing stopped by the Bush Radio studios with Conrad Koch. He was interviewed by Natalie and Freedom on Everyday People (weekdays 4-7pm) about the Chester Missing Roadshow which is currently on at the Baxter Theatre.
This Sunday on Bush Radio 89.5fm we launch two music programmes:
Retro-Rewind (10h00 – 12h00) hosted by Shiraz “Cazzman” Ramjee and The Love Booth (12h00 – 14h00) hosted by Sive Msolo (former Breakfast Rush and Everyday People).
Both hosts are no strangers to Bush Radio listeners; Shiraz helped the late Roger Lewis with the programme Sensual Sundays and Sive co-hosted the Breakfast Rush and Everyday People.
According to the Programme Integrator Adrian Louw, the addition of these two shows is “only the start of exciting changes that Bush Radio will implement as the station celebrates 18 years on air”.
Retro-Rewind will be spinning all the forgotten club classics ranging from the late 70s to late 90s. The first half of the show will concentrate on jazz and slow jams. The second half is more uptempo, playing disco classics that promise to make you get up and move. As the name says, we’ll be taking you back… to your school days, your first kiss, or maybe even your first broken heart.
The Love Booth will give you the best of Rhythm and Blues, mixing the new with the old. With an album of the week feature, artist features and your song of the week – The Love Booth is where lovers meet.
Bush Radio is looking for vibrant and enthusiastic women who have a passion for radio to be co-hosts on Everyday People (weekdays, 4 to 7pm)
Requirements:

* generate interviews and new show ideas
* compiling daily features
* organise daily interviews
* setting up questions for each interview
* liaise with guest/s and host of the show
* taking photos of guest/interviews/events
* promote the show via Facebook/Twitter/etc
* blog
* work closely with the show host
* co-hosting & interviewing
* fluent in English and Xhosa/Afrikaans
Please include your CV (with 2 contactable references) and a motivational letter of no longer than 200 words explaining why you feel you are suitable as a co-host.
