Happy Birthday to Victor J (video)

Bush Radio’s Victor Jantjies celebrated his birthday today – some of the guys gave him a small suprise in a very big box.

Rocking your Mother

Besides the great talk programmes on Bush Radio we are known for the best specialist music shows – many of which have been running for more than 12 years like the Drum ‘n Bass show and Blues in the Bush.

We are also known for some of the best programme names – like The Unhappy Hour (which runs for two hours) and Gister se Dinge.

With the success of the “Maak Victor Mal” slot on a Wednesday morning we have decided that we need to bring back more rock to the station.

We are pleased to announce that on Monday the 12th April 2010 – the mother is going to rock.

Tune into 89.5 FM or listen online to the Wrong Rock Show with Greg “The Hammer” Donnelly at 10pm, as he takes you on a journey beyond the limitations of the mainstream, to a place where vintage rock ‘n roll can rub shoulders with anarchic post-rock.
That’s the Wrong Rock Show, launching this coming Monday night the 12th April at 10pm.

Why Wednesdays makes everyone Mal

Wednesdays are becoming popular for not only for its Maak Victor Mal slot but also for its general craziness. This morning was nothing unusual for the team but we thought we would share some of the happenings in studio with you.

Today the Breakfast team were joined by Stan1 for an interview and performance promoting his new single as well as Taxi Violence who trekked in for the Maak Victor Mal segment and played their track , Devil ‘n Pistol live.

The guys were also joined by Leole-Ann Francis from the Cape Town Festival and then Victor and Shiraaz received a surprise call from Zaki Ibrahim who is performing at the festival.

Capturing all this madness unique to the breakfast show was Ulrike Eichin from Zweites Deutsches Fernsehen (ZDF) – a public-service German television channel, who along with other colleagues are working on a unique documentary covering the lives of South African’s in a 24 hour cycle.

Stabbing, Rock music and traffic reports

This morning things were pretty hectic on the breakfast show with Victor and Shiraaz. They were joined by Rob Van Vuuren who co-hosted part of the programme as well as Cate Comedown from the group Pretty Dirty. Check out the videos below.
