Whether it is Dr Ian Bell with Blues in the Bush or Yuzriq hitting the Psy music hard on a Friday, or health with Sakhisizwe or some heavy politics with Alternative Radio, the “mother of community radio in Africa” really embraces and proves this year’s World Radio Day theme: “Radio and Diversity“.
In all aspects of the work of Bush Radio from the volunteers to staff who are drawn from all areas of Cape Town to learn and develop in media and with our eclectic mix of programming we are proud to say: We are radio, we are diversity!
Proclaimed in 2011 by the Member States of UNESCO, and adopted by the United Nations General Assembly in 2012 as an International Day, February 13 became World Radio Day (WRD).
