Trainee presenter/producer positions

Bush Radio 89.5 FM, Africa’s oldest community radio station project, is offering two local internships in its programming department for trainee producer/presenters.

The internship in Cape Town provides opportunities for the candidates to develop skills in producing content for radio programmes (ie research, scripting, etc) and presenting (interviewing, etc).

Job description for trainee producer/presenter:

* Generate interview ideas * Research topics for programme * Schedule and liaise with guests * Draft questions before and during interviews * Research, package and present programme elements (community notices, updates, tips etc) * Liaise with listeners regarding programme * Take photographs / video * Updating blogs/websites * Present a radio programme (NOT DJing!)

Availability:

Successful candidates must be available to receive basic training in mid-February 2012 and be available from Monday to Friday – 8am to 2pm. The internships will run from mid-February 2012 – June 2012 (fulltime).

Requirements:

No formal qualifications are required but the candidates must be computer literate and understand, write, read and speak English and one other indigenous language. A good general knowledge is essential; a passion for news would be an advantage.

Applications should include the following:

1. Motivation letter

2. CV with at least 2 contactable references

Deadline:

10 February 2012 @ 12h00

Interview process:

Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted for the interview process. Shortlisted candidates will have to complete a voice test, written test and face-to-face interview.
